April Chapter Event - KIPMI’s Mentoring Program Workshop
Abstract
Join us for an engaging 2-hour interactive workshop and discussion at the upcoming KIPMI event, where we will introduce the structure of the new mentoring program. This initiative aims to foster professional growth and development through structured mentorship opportunities. Participants will have the chance to connect with experienced mentors, share insights, and explore strategies for career advancement.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the key components and benefits of the new mentoring program.
- Learn how to get involved and set expectations for the program.
- Review and participate in co-designing the program's structure and provide feedback before the first cycle.
Presenters
Steve Pollock
Dr. Steve Pollock’s passion and purpose is to share simple, effective team-building and problem-solving tools. Currently, a Senior Program Manager and Monday.com Business Owner at Farm Credit Mid-America (FCMA) and an Adjunct Business Instructor at Indiana Wesleyan University, Steve is a trusted resource for continuous improvement projects and lifelong learning. With PMI certifications including PgMP, ACP, and PMP, as well as being an ASQ Fellow and Six Sigma Master Black Belt, he brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Steve is the current KIPMI President and co-author with Daro Mott (KIPMI VP Programs) of coaching Green Belts for Sustainable Success (ASQ Press, 2015).
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, camping, gardening, serving in his church, and reading.
Kelly Sheehan
Kelly Sheehan is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and Internal Management Consultant (AIMC-CC) with expertise in operational readiness, continuous improvement, and strategic problem-solving. With certifications in Lean and Six Sigma (Black Belt),
Kelly excels in enhancing business performance and driving customer satisfaction, particularly in healthcare and financial services. Her career includes leadership roles in project management, organizational change management, and process improvement. A seasoned coach and mentor, Kelly has a proven track record of guiding cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.
She holds a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and actively contributes to professional communities, including as VP of Education for the Kentucky/Indiana PMI chapter Board of Directors. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys cooking, crafting, exercising, reading, and completing amateur home improvement projects.
Dan Germak
Dan Germak is an experienced Project Manager with a five year track record in Corporate Compliance and New Product Development Engineering. He earned a bachelor’s degree in HR and management from Indiana University Southeast and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Dan’s time in the military and the manufacturing industry has helped him identify his passion for building effective teams, finding efficiencies through process improvement, and empowering others to continuously grow personally and professionally.
Dan is currently serving as the Director of Membership for KIPMI and is looking forward to working with our members to share best practices and help expand the project management profession in the Kentuckiana area.
