August 2024 Chapter Meeting - Viewing Success Through the Leadership Kaleidoscope (In Person)

Business Acumen

Abstract

Chuck will discuss a multi-perspective approach to understanding and achieving project success, emphasizing the perspectives of leadership at different levels. Key discussion topics include:

Defining Success: Clarifying what success means from different leadership perspectives—outcomes, methodology, and the practitioner’s influence. This sets the stage for a comprehensive discussion on project success.

Attributes for Efficacy: Share findings from focus group studies on the most important attributes for project manager efficacy as it relates to project success. Highlight the nine specific project manager attributes or skills that influence stakeholders and contribute to success as seen through various lenses.

Project Leadership: Reflection through Chuck’s personal experience in various project leadership roles, such as project manager, program manager, PMO leader, business sponsor, and executive sponsor, and how each of these roles have shaped his view on project success.
