Oct. 27th Practitioner Support - [Solved - Agile or Waterfall]

About The Event

[SOLVED] Agile or Waterfall?

Perhaps the most prevalent question in project management today is which project management methodology is superior, Agile (iterative) or Waterfall (traditional).  In this session, Cody Jordan and Curtis Nall will answer this question. SPOILER ALERT: the answer is both.  The key is knowing where, when and why each is appropriate.  We will use lessons learned in seemingly unrelated disciplines to show the importance of using both, but more importantly, we will describe a principled method in selecting which methodology is most appropriate given the context of the project.

About Our Presenters, Cody Jordan (PMP & Certified SCRUM Master) & Curtis Nall (PMP)

Cody Jordan (PMP & Certified Scrum Master) has managed projects for ten years in both the private and public sectors.  He has managed projects internationally, from the Middle East to the Pacific Rim.  Throughout his service in the U.S. Marine Corps, interest in sports, studies at Appalachian State  (Business - Marketing & Psychology) and professional career, Cody has taken a keen interest in how leaders make decisions, specifically as applied to project management.

For as long as he can remember, Curtis Nall (PMP) has had an interest (bordering on compulsion) for figuring out how things work.  While earning a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and through professional experience in Process Engineering and Project Management, Curtis has worked with some very complicated and complex systems, allowing him to study the way organizations implement and operate these systems.  Curtis continues to apply insights gained working with complicated and complex systems to the field of project management.
